Our work in Norway
OSMTH Norway was established November 19th, 2003. The first members were accepted to the Order January 10, 2004. November 6th., 2004, the next Investiture was arranged and more members were welcomed. Today, we number around 50 members.
This is an uncomplicated organization. It is an open, ecumenic, unpolitical non-profit organization engaged in various humanitarian projects. All persons willing to submit themselves to our ethical laws and rules are welcome to apply for membership. Our international organization is recognized as an NGO in special consultative status to the UN. You may read more about this at www.osmth.org.
OSMTH is represented in about 40 nations (this number is expanding) world wide, with about 7000 members. The humanitarian projects are many and with great variations between them. The choice of projects is completely decentralized to the various national organizations. In Norway, OSMTH is currently engaged in 1. Laws of War, 2. Human Rights, and 3. Military Ethics. Our goal is further to build up a virtual library for organizations, institutions and individuals engaged in “sharp” tasks. In order to fulfil this goal there is arranged seminars and collected works to be included in the library.
