Annual Meeting at NRK, Oslo
19 April 2006

 

The Priory of The Kingdom of Norway will this year have the annual meeting at NRK in Oslo.

 

Spring Convent 2006, seminar and Investure
26 - 30 April 2006

The Priory of the Kingdom of Norway have the honor to host the 2nd annual "Decent Warfare Seminar" and the OSMTH International Spring Convent 2006 in Oslo. The seminar will be held at the "Nobel Peace Center".
A formal Investiture will be held April 29th.
4 Norwegian, 4 Swedish and 1 Danish Postulant will be invested into the Order.

 

New Knights Invested
19 November 2005

During a ceremony at Old Church of Aker in Oslo, eight new Knights were invested into the Order. After the ceremony, there was a dinner at Skytterkollen. The postulants where from Norway, Sweden and Denmark.

 

Knights meeting at Akershus, in Oslo

15 September 2005

This evening OSMTH knights gathered at the National Defence Museum, at Akershus fortress, in Oslo. During the meeting were held discussions about our present and future activities.

Present at the meeting were also som new knights, to be investitured as knights in November.

Annual meeting with “Fireworks Concert” at Oscarsborg Fortress

25-26 June 2005

During this weekend OSMTH knights gathered, together with their families at Oscarsborg Fortress. Our formal annual meeting was held, with the selection of the board for next year.

After the meeting there were reports from the different working groups, the Activity Group, the Seminar Group, the IT/Information Group, and the Decoration and Disiplinary Board.

After the meeting the participant enjoyed a formal dinner and the “Fireworks Concert”.

Knights meeting at Rikshospitalet, in Oslo

17 February 2005

This evening OSMTH knights gathered at Rikshospitalet, the National Hospital, in Oslo. Hosting the evening, was Dr Prof Edward Messelt.

During the evening there was discussions about our upgrading from commandery to priory, which hopefully will take place att the annual meeting in June.

There was also reports from the different comities within the commanery. The activity comity, the information comity, and the seminar comity.

We all wish to thank Dr Prof Edward Messelt, for arranging this meeting, and for arranging the catering.

 

Knights meeting at NRK, in Oslo

01 December 2004

This evening, many OSMTH knights gathered at NRK´s, the Norweigian public service television, in Oslo. Hosting the evening, was Jan-Fredrik Drangsholt, who works at NRK. We spent the evening at NRK´s old and restored, boardroom.

Commander Leif E. Feiring informed us about future co-operation with UNICEF, and we divided into different workgroups. An extra meeting was held, in which we decided to change our name to OSMTH of the Kingdom of Norway. This way it will be easier when we move from commandery to priory status.

We are all very thankful to Jan-Fredrik Drangsholt, for arranging this meeting, and the catering.

 

New Knights invested

06 November 2004

During a ceremony at Holmenkollen Chapel in Oslo, ten new Knights were invested into the Order. After the ceremony, there was a dinner at Skytterkollen, outside Oslo. Guest of honour was Col Richard S Flahaven, US Army, Grand Prior of the Priory of Nato.

 

“Decent Warfare” seminar held in Oslo

The seminar was held in The Norwegian Armed Forces Museum, in Akkershus Fortress, in OsloMaj Leif E. Feiring and LtCol Fredrik Michelet hosted and wished everyone welcome to the seminar.

The seminar was then opened by Jörgen Kosmo, the Speaker of the Norwegian Parliament.

There were four main speakers at the seminar:

GenMaj Arne-Willy Dahl, the Norwegian Armed Forces General War Advocate, spoke on the matter of armed conflict and law.

Editor Jan-Otto Johansen, formerly at the Norwegian Public Service Television, spoke on war and ethics.

After lunch, at the museum's restaurant, Jan-Erik Hemmer, advisor at the Norwegian Ministry of Defence spoke on the changes in the Norwegian Armed Forces. The change from a self-defence force to an instrument of foreign policy.

Major Nils Terje Lund, chaplain and teacher in ethics at the Royal Norwegian Air Force Academy, also spoke on war and ethics. “Decent Warfare — Impossible but necessary”

The seminar was attended by 55 persons, both military and civilians. OSMTH are very grateful to the speakers and to Jörgen Kosmo, for his efforts in organising this seminar.
